Quick Facts About The Green Parrot

Location

The Green Parrot is located on 5 acres of waterfront land on Washington State's Whidbey Island. The house perches at the top of a cliff, with miles of sandy beach below and spectacular views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It is a very quiet and private place. Just 10 miles down the road is the town of Langley, which boasts an artist's colony and some great antique shops. 15 miles away is the quaint town of Coupeville, which has a grocery store, post office and hospital. "Snow Falling on Cedars" and "Practical Magic" were filmed here.

Getting There

Whidbey Island is accessible by ferry. The ferry accommodates both cars and pedestrians, and has regularly scheduled daily trips between Mukilteo on the mainland (about 30 minutes north of Seattle) and Clinton on the Island. There is also a ferry from Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula, and you can drive from the north (Bellingham, Vancouver B.C.) over the famed Deception Pass Bridge. Visitors to Whidbey Island can rent cars in Seattle or Oak Harbor on the island. The Green Parrot is a 13 mile drive from the ferry terminal. As an added convenience, there is a free bus service on the Island that runs Monday through Saturday. The bus stops at the foot of the Green Parrot's driveway!
